Blackwood River Farm is located in Western Australia’s south-west region, halfway between Margaret River and Augusta. The farm sits on the banks of the Blackwood River with over 750m of river frontage. The property is 80ha (200 acres) in size, consisting of two homesteads, numerous sheds, two large licenced dams, with a 120M litre water licence allowing 9.5ha of pasture to be summer irrigated.
Our lambs have a great life on the river. They naturally shed their wool in summer which enables us to leave their tails on as nature intended.
We grow a multispecies pasture that improves our soils, gives our lambs a great selection to eat and increases biodiversity.
Every year we have been planting native trees, shrubs and reeds along our waterways. To date we have planted more than 12,000 seedlings which provides future shelter and improves the health of our farm.
